While we could spend a great deal of time spending a lot of money at many of Houston’s fine restaurants, or look for homes for sale in Houston, we may not always have time. Thankfully, Houston has many fun and exciting free things that can help keep you occupied, while ensuring that you won’t have to spend any money at all.

Here are five free things to do in Houston that you should make note of:

JP Morgan Chase Tower
This tower is open to all members of the public every weekday from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM. Take the time to visit on any one of these days and take a trip up to the tower’s 60th floor, on which is located the Sky Lobby’s observation deck. From there, you will be able to take in a breathtaking view of downtown Houston.

Downtown Tunnels
Houston actually has a subterranean tunnel system, which links together a total of 95 blocks over approximately six miles. How you choose to enjoy your time while you’re down there is completely your choice!

Houston Zoo
This amazing zoo offers free passes to all members of the public on the first Tuesday of every month from 2:00 PM until the zoo closes. It should be noted that this deal is not valid during the Houston Zoo’s summer hours.

Free Museum Days
This is an extremely popular event that takes place regularly in Houston. However, while some of these events are always free, there are some that are only free during specific times of the day. This is something that depends on the particular museum.

Lost Lake
This is a restored pond that is located right near Dunlavy and Allen Parkway that features a vision center, lush wetland gardens, andthe aptly-named Dunlavy, which is a restaurant and private event space that contains counter space for both breakfast and lunch. The Dunlavy is not free, but it’s still great to enjoy.
